Felt a bit slow and heavy today, didn't feel like I ever got going. Though today's RAAAD was a best of Prince, always a good tune. Because in last nights dream, I walked into an small'ish office where two unknown men to me were listening to a female drummer, Sheila E., using a computer server as a drum set, GPU base drum, RAM high hat etc. After talking to her for a bit, suddenly I were out running at junction in my hometown in Denmark, I was with Sheila and others doing an ultra. A man, not sure if was the fella from earlier in the dream, said I'm sure I can beat Sheila. The next second I'm starting next to her and she is leaning up against a wall looking rather tired as she had just finished the first ultra. I told her what the man said and that she could do it (finish the second ultra). Sheila stood up walked down to an entrance to a cave and suddenly came running up and told me that he (the man who challenge her) was down there. As we were running up a steep and gnarly path, she was shouting back to me, I've only did my first ever half marathon last week.

Early morning run. I had to wake up at a ridiculous hour (04:00) because I had to be back home at 06:15 to bring my eldest son to the train station for the hike he has planned with a couple of friends for the next few days.

The forecast being rain, I started with my jacket on. But it was not raining and the jacket was too hot, so I carried it for the whole run.

And I've changed my program again.
I'm now using a two-week training cycle where I run every other day. A long run on the weekend, and during the week, I do whatever the Garmin Daily Suggested Workout recommends for that day.
The long runs include elevation gain, based on my October goal (Bear Trail, 58km, 1500m).

Garmin's recommendation for today was an easy bike ride:

Post 100 Miler Update

So I ran that Mors 100 Miles race last Saturday (to mid Sunday night). Since then (*after* the race) I’ve been having sore knee caps (/top of knee area). So I cannot run still. It seems to decrease in intensity … but it is a slow process. Cross training until I can (let’s say dare to) run again.

First time I’ve tried this consequence of an ultra. Suspect it was due to the extreme runnability of the course. So very high impact.

Looks like I might end up running in the soon to be "dark and scary" North this year.

So I'm looking for some lights while out on the trails. I got a random assortments of cycling lights and head torches. And only 5% of my running will be on road, if I'm really unlucky. I have plenty rear lights that I can attach on my person or running west, so that's not a worry. It's more forward, as all my light are either Dyno lights or something you attach to handle bars.

What lights are you using?

Ee by gum that Yorkshire do scrub up nicely, eh lad. Sadly because of the need to earn a keep, I couldn't do a longer run today in Dogs own country.

Nearly had a dramatic fall, jumped over some nettles, from where a startled black rabbit took of from at speed, Paddy darted after the wild life, hit me as I landed, we just about managed to stay upright. Lucky he was running next to me at that moment, if he have had a step or two run up, I've been airborne.
