There's this idea coming from white passing American transfems that passing is inevitable or that it doesn't matter.
That if you stick to the process of transitioning, you'll eventually pass as your gender.
This isn't true.
And if you're unable to pass because you didn't win the genetic lottery and didn't even get half of the numbers right on your genetic ticket.
Then it doesn't matter.
You're either in the privileged ranks of other white transfems that can pass or you're not and you shouldn't feel bad about it.
Passing is the cure to dysphoria.
The better we pass as our gender to ourselves(passing to other people helps massively too), the better we'll feel about ourselves and be able to exist at all.
Passing is massively important to trans people, it can help with physical security, job security, better medical treatment, depression, sociability, general opportunities, and often missed: being accepted for who we are.
Your ability to pass, might be the deciding factor on if you'll even want to transition at all.
