quackademic<p>It’s not the beliefs that are the focus, it’s the strategies used to coerce &amp; control.</p><p>Using this framing I can’t help but think of the way children - &amp; all of us - are acculturated into gendered scripts. These can be enforced so brutally &amp; do so much harm. They scar us for life. As do ideas of racial &amp; cultural hierarchy for that matter. Maybe hierarchy, power (esp entitlement to define) &amp; control ARE the problem?</p><p>Thank you to the state of Victoria for conducting this enquiry into the recruitment methods and impacts of cults and organised fringe groups.
