I admit, I'm a talk to strangers kind of person. Mostly because I'm curious about other perspectives, thinking, experiences. Almost always I leave with more empathy for their world.

Do you talk to strangers? eg on the bus, planes, waiting rooms, library, etc, etc?

Patience -- I've heard more than one person, including myself, comment on how they don't have enough of it.

The ability to wait, be silent when you don't know what to say, keep moving through the day when you can't actively bring about the change you want -- this is a challenge indeed.

And it's one that, at one time or another, we all face.

A quotation from Terry Pratchett

Each man thought: one of the others is bound to say something soon, some protest and then I will murmur agreement, not actually say anything. I am not as stupid as that, but definitely murmur very firmly, so that the others will be in no doubt that I thoroughly disapprove, because at a time like this it behooves all decent men to nearly stand up and be almost heard ...
But no one said anything. The cowards, each man thought.

Terry Pratchett (1948-2015) English author
