The podcast I co-present with comedian Esyllt Sears has been nominated in the Best Comedy category at the Independent Podcast Awards.

The Dome is on a break ahead of a rebrand/relaunch in October, but there's 2 Best Ofs on the feed right now, if you fancy checking it out.

It's a history pod covering the mid-70s to the present day. You'll be surprised how much Richard Branson crops up.

We'll be back with a new thing very shortly (on the same feed) but, in the gap, some Best Ofs...

Big ol' bunch of these I've neglected to mention online in which Esyllt Sears and I cover goings-on in Octobers 2001 (Soapstars and filthy football chants⚽), 1997 (Candle In The Wind🕯️and BBC Balloons🌏), 2014 (the warmest Halloween🌡️🎃) and 2011 (Steve Jobs' will 📜 and other similarly lighthearted stuff).

This week it's 1987 in which the Great Storm arrives ⛈️ and the Loch Ness Monster doesn't🐉

August 1991 - Bryan Adams is at number one, the first website is launched & King Charles continues his crusade against modern architecture - and all wrapped up in 20mins.

That's the same amount time it takes to listen to "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" 3 times.

Which I've done.

An under-20min podcast covering Prince Andrew's stag-do, the worst Commonwealth Games & BBC Radio 4 shows aimed at kids.

As Esyllt Sears says "There's something about July 1986 which really puts me on edge - I haven't enjoyed any of this stuff"

We are doing a live edition of The Dome at the London Welsh Centre on 14th July with special guests Elis James & Gav Murphy!

You'll know Elis from BBC Radio 5 Live, Fantasy Football League and the Socially Distant Sports Bar.

And Gav is part of RKG and the Regular Features podcast (he's going to be so good when we get him to play Mario Kart).
