Favourite Number One of the Summer, 1960s and 1970s
A bonus music poll. Starting with the qualifying rounds, each day I will post a music poll, multiple choice. For the purpose of this poll the summer will run from May to September. To feature in the poll a record must have reached number one on the British charts during the summer months.
The 32 qualifiers will meet in a seeded knockout.
I hope you will enjoy this poll. Which song will emerge as our favourite 1960s-1970s summer sound?
More details later today.
@HannahHowe Looking forward! I'm sure that, being the boomer that I am, can identify with this better than with recent polls.
Can we make October a Summer month?
October, "Maggie May" by Rod Stewart reached number one in the UK, Australia, Canada, and the United States in 1971.
@lyndamerry484 Maybe we can do an autumn poll
@lyndamerry484 @HannahHowe Maggie May was the one song my dad was guaranteed to turn off when it came on the radio. He liked "beautiful music"
