The Zuck suck is in full swing. In the few short hours since I started using #Threads, #DuckDuckGo has already blocked over 200 data tracking attempts. These include things like "headphone status" and "screen density."
EDIT for clarity: The 200+ attempts *may* have been overcounted as DDG hadn't tooled their VPN for Threads yet.

@kreig is duck duck go an app that blocks data being stolen? I’m not tech savvy but interested in keeping my data secure
@LinWales Duck Duck Go is a privacy concerned search engine and they also offer a privacy conscience browser app
@bradweitz @LinWales The blocking feature comes with the DDG browser (still in beta) so it's not standalone. But, it blocks data harvesting from your phone apps even if you are not using the browser.
@bradweitz @LinWales Also, there is a standalone app, Blokada which does a similar thing, version 5 is free on their web site and you have to "side load" it as it's not in the play store, obvs.
@Mayor_of_Smartarse @bradweitz thank you - sorry for late reply
