Breathtaking scenery along the wildlife corridor that is the Gwaun Valley. The mizzle didn’t detract from the bike ride and give me the perfect opportunity to dry off in the Bridge End Inn at Llanychaer (Bessie’s wasn’t open 😢)

Is map of the route. Starting/ending at Llanychaer taking the route south to Cilgwyn and then a gradual descent through the Gwaun Valley.
Views across the valley were limited with the low hanging clouds and mizzle. However it was tranquil and really scenic.
Bessie’s pub in Bontfaen. If you’ve never been there go out of your way to visit. Bessie passed away in January in her mid-90’s but her granddaughter Nerys still runs it. Don’t expect anything fancy - it does Bass from a jug and that’s it!
A beautiful isolated shower on the edge of Cwm Gwaun. I was really pleased with the blue sky as it only last ed a few minutes before raining again.
