On the way home to South Wales after my Llyn Peninsula adventure. A quick stop off to admire the impressive Criccieth Castle or, ‘the bright fort high on a rock’, as described by the 14th century Welsh bard Iolo Goch.

Entrance to the inner courtyard overlooking the sea with Yr Eyri in the background. From that entrance you can allegedly see Harlech castle 10 miles away across Cardigan bay.
