I mean, the visceral reaction expressed by many English individuals towards the very idea that people in the other nations of the UK do not want to be part of the UK. It's like they feel personally insulted. Why would that be?

The visceral English reaction to us leaving, reminds me of someone clinging on to a relationship which long ago became toxic to both parties, but one half is still hanging onto the legs of the other as they try to leave the house to start a new and better life
