The viaduct located at Porthkerry Park in Barry looking glorious this morning as the warm sun started to pierce through the colder air in the field.
@WelshPhotographer Beautiful picture.
@RossA Thanks buddy
@WelshPhotographer you've got a Pentax? Nobody has a Pentax these days! Have a K1000 & K-x
@rj07thomas I've been a Pentax digital shooter from way back when they brought out the *IstD! The cameras are amazing and blow the socks of the competition but they can't market themselves properly for toffee!
I recently had the K1000 also, but I sold it for my Z-1P, and I also have a Zoom 90 WR compact. Love shooting film, but it's getting pretty expensive at the moment!
@WelshPhotographer I got talked out of trading in my K1000 and am glad now - it's built like a tank and looks timeless! Have a bunch of k-mount lenses but don't use either of them enough - which is a bit criminal considering I live in wonderful Barrybados :-)
@WelshPhotographer if it gets as cold as it was this morning again at some point (sadly, looks like Barry is warming up over night), worth taking a wander down to Jackson's Bay - just before Christmas I went down there and caught all the rock pools frozen over which takes some doing.
@rj07thomas I drove past the old dock by Brewers Fayre today and that's all frozen over also
@WelshPhotographer wow. I was half hoping it would be as cold tomorrow but forecast seems to be warming up.
@rj07thomas
Yeah, not looking great for tomorrow but you never know what you'll wake up to. At least sunset 'could' be on
@rj07thomas you know if you bought a Pentax DSLR then your K mount lenses go straight on, it's the same mount, they never changed it. Another bonus is the camera bodies have in built image stabilisation so your old lenses are now image stabilised digital lenses
The K1000 was a photographers camera. Totally reliable, built like a brick and never failed
@WelshPhotographer exactly why I bought the K-x! Finally got a fully automatic 70-210 zoom last year so it takes some of the confusion out of using it fully manually
@rj07thomas Love Jacksons Bay. Always a squeeze for me though through the metal fence to photograph the lighthouse on the end of the breakwater! Don't tell the yacht club
@WelshPhotographer haha! Your secret's safe with me :-)
