Looking towards Penarth from The Cardiff Barrage: Two Parallel footpaths, close together but at slightly different levels are joined by another, slightly sloping path. They curve around, following the shape of the barrage and resulting bay. The mechanisms of the sea locks can be seen in the distance and behind them, Penarth. The older houses built on top of a hill above a sheer sea cliff, with newer houses placed around the waterfront. The water is calm and blue, reflecting the pale blue sky above, which is sparsely populated with thin, high white clouds
Looking to Cardiff Bay from the Barrage: Calm blue water terminates in a line of moored boats. Behind them are the iconic buildings of the "new" cardiff bay. A white Ferris wheel, the Terracotta "Pierhead" building with it's clocktower and the glass-walled "Senedd" building. Rising behind all these is the impressive "Wales Millennium Centre" It's bronze coloured walls looking like fish scales
The Norwegian Church and Scott Antartic Memorial: A small Norwegian style church, it's walls made from white wooden boards and it's roof and spire a faded black sits behind a sculpture depicting Scott man-hauling towards the south Pole. It's surface is made of an irregular mosaic of small white tiles.
A small yacht moving into one of the sea locks of the Cardiff Barrage: A white yacht motors into a gap between two concrete walls. It is dwarfed by the size of the lock, only it's mast pokes above the walls. Above, large grey steel arms sit that lever up the roadway to allow boats to pass through. In the background, houses and apartment blocks, some under construction, can be seen on the opposite side of the bay
