I'm currently downloading all my photos from google, and preparing to upload to my new #Nextcloud instance
@davidoclubb I played with NC once. It’s nice. However, make sure that you install the NC +data+ on its own partition. I found I rapidly used the storage that came with the plan and it was a pain to deal with retrospectively. I’m sure it would have been easier to set it up in that way from the onset.

Don't bother with "Photos", use "Memories" instead. It's fast and full-featured. You can optionally add photos to albums for Flickr-like organisation.

Ditching any/all of their products has to be a sound decision, particularly for browsing the web.
