Apparently it's National #Conifer week. Happy "Ooh let's buy this cute little tree in this tiny pot that'll grow so big at an alarming rate that it'll consume our house and neighbour's houses in years to come" week to all that celebrate. #NationalConiferWeek #tree #garden
Earlier this year I gave away a dozen small #Sequoia trees via a local "Buy Nothing" group.
Two people specifically mentioned their neighbors as a reason for applying. After checking out both these peoples neighbors gardens (concrete hellholes) I gave them some of the most promising baby trees..
Next update in a decade?
edit: Hmm, this could be one of those "am I the asshole" #aita posts on #reddit. So let's include poll. Am I the asshole for giving away #trees to those two people?
@Pepijn More trees are always good. Just need to be careful which ones and where they'll go.
@druid yeah. So giant sequoia from California and right next to the neighbors house foundation somewhere in Europe... right? ;-)
@Pepijn Sounds perfectly fine.
@druid That's almost precisely what happened with my 2 ( 2 different years ) Xmas trees in Italy. Actually they are the 2 trees I am more proud of, they are taller than the house itself now ( that has 2 floors ). I don't have any pics here but that's precisely what happened
@druid we had 9 of various heights when we moved in. Logs for 2 Winters and now hardwoods growing instead.
