The council for the car-addicted Swedish town I live in has just shelved plans to build a new bus station because, it would, er, brace yourself, be built where there is currently a car park.

@bestdeadends I can’t say I’m at all surprised there. 
@gavin57 will be watching later. Possibly relevant… I was always puzzled by anti-cyclist motorists because almost everyone cycling instead of driving is reducing congestion … making the roads better for drivers (apart from the odd delay to not kill someone on a narrow road)
@daycoder It mostly seemed to come from the tabloid ‘journalists’ who try to lead with division. Cyclists vs drivers is a classic wedge issue for tabloids to milk for all it is worth, never mind the additional agro we people on bicycles would face as a result.
