So question for #anime #fans I was thinking .. "In the whole #AkiraToriyama universe .. who's the strongest/indestructible/more powerful being ? .. My bet is on Arale
@gilesgoat
NEVER bet against the gag character!
@jherazob From the not-so much I know, I was reading LONG ago the "series 1" mangas and I never seen the animated series, but I THINK that even the Super Sayan dunno-what-level can't beat Arale ( nor that she fights but probably just wants to play with them )
@jherazob MANY MANY YEARS ago, before DB/DBZ even existed, I remember me and my parents we were quite fond/shocked about the cartoon "Dr Slump and Arale" .. never seen anything "so demential" at that level ( until Excel Saga ) . I remember one episode that made us CRACK in tears of laughter when Slup was on the toilet and runs out of TP. He asks Arale "to bring him some roll" which she does "at high speed" launching him KMs away Then he decides "enough is enough" and works to strip off CONT.
@jherazob CONT. Arale "superpowers" ( which as we know are a construction mistake - I don't think even Dr Slump knows how she got those ) .. but .. being DR Slump .. he does "something wrong" again, and then asks Arale "give me a push" .. to which Arale obliges sending him TO THE MOON So effectively turns out he increased her powers even more
Dr Slump and Arale was still a best cartoon
@gilesgoat Absolutely Arale!
Interestingly, the DB universe has written itself into such a corner lately it's done a complete back to square one approach. I think everyone realised the futility of "Goku fights bad guy and becomes a god" over and over, so they decided to return to their roots and make things more like the 80s beginnings.
@Gosunkugi I stopped reading DB after 'series 2', as you say it was a case of 'too much success let's make it longer' at the expense of 'content' that was getting more and more just into fights. Dr Slump and Arale came - as I remember it - exactly in times where "Anime was mostly robots fighting stuff all over the places pretending to be serious". Dr Slump and Penguin Village was "a SHOCKING NEW breath of FRESH AIR" and was taking the piss of everything of before "breaking all the rules"
@gilesgoat Indeed. It's telling the projects that Toriyama did when he moved away from the endless fighting drama of Dragon Ball, Sand Land for example is pure adventure, a little demon in a tank roaming the wasteland, and it's marvelous.
