It's hard to know the value of a mark without context, so in order to explore marks for another piece, I gave some test marks some context.

Two 5x5 cm wood engravings.

I know where I'd rather be. That said, I'm still none to sure how I'm going to approach the larger piece, though I do at least have a slightly clearer sense of some of the possibles.
