This is completely insane. Musk wants to transition a half-century-old codebase, much of it written in COBOL, to modern languages in the space of a few MONTHS.
Possibly using generative AI to assist.

@llamasoft_ox I hope they fail massively and catastrophically because those arrogant deranged creatures need a serious lesson in humility.
@llamasoft_ox@toot.wales@arx they do, that's for sure, but the trouble is it's the Social Security infrastructure and if they end up fucking that up it could end up hurting a whole bunch of vulnerable people who rely on it.
It's just so bad of an idea that you have to wonder if the intent really *is* to sabotage it in order to throw it away.
