I don't feel as strongly about quote posts as I did in 2018. Personally, I am not a fan, but there is clearly a lot of demand for it. We're considering it.

@Gargron

on you can share a link to the post mastodon.social/@Gargron/10962 screen shot it, quote it in Alt text, but all takes considered time…

All ‘Quote posts’ on Twitter did was get rid of Modified Tweet - MT? It made things fast and easy!

Quote posts on can be supportive or abusive, but the efficiency of it makes it fast. Isn’t this space a more considered, mindful space, speeding things up helps people to be less considerate?

@nspugh @Gargron I've become a fan. That delay helps me avoid regrettable posts.

@costrike @Gargron where as I would like to be able to save posts that I am composing, (no criticism) my iPad Mastodon App is really unstable. When I exit to get info, it quits, and I lose me toot!

I have evolved to write them in Notes first 😂

@nspugh @Gargron I haven't had that happen on Android.

I miss the quote tweet. I generally never dump on people by using it to say I disagree. I draw peoples attention to the original tweet with finger pointing down 👇 and say great thread or something. Gives the original poster the credit and the viewer an option to look at the original. If I disagree to a tweet I do so in reply and don't recall I ever quote tweet to disagree. Even then thinking back I have regrets about capitalising short acronyms like IMO in replies.
