I’ll be back over here more now (for reasons) so here’s a brief re-#introduction.
I’m a UK freelance book indexer and editor on arts/humanities books for authors and publishers. I’m also a new cryptic crossword setter and a Welsh learner. I like dancing, laughing, music and pubs, often in combination.

Happy to chat to decent folks both old and new to me. So hello/helô!
@pc_bain hey Paula! Where might one find one of your cryptic crosswords?
@justomar Hi Omar and thanks for saying hello. There’s a link to one in my top pinned toot or you can find that and more on the MyCrossword site, where my setter name is Pixie.

@pc_bain Thanks for the link! I tried the most recent one, I feel super silly just got one of them. Uncovered them all in the end and hopefully I get the cryptic nature of the hints better next time round!
@justomar It’s all in the practice really, like learning a new language. I’m also a very new setter so not yet clueing as fairly for the solver as I could one day, so that’s more practice needed for me too! And some days my brain just isn’t in the cryptic zone either. Thanks so much for taking a look at it.
@pc_bain Hello again! This is a right pain isn't it.
@icemaiden1964 Hello hello. The guy’s an eejit and worse things that I won’t post in public.
@pc_bain There's probably an Indexer article in it - Social Media in the post-bird-site Age.
@icemaiden1964 Increasing issues, no doubt.
@pc_bain
Hello! Fitting word choice (I needed to look it up – "Irish & Scottish, informal"). @icemaiden1964
@samu Hoi Sam! Ah yes – ‘eejit see also idiot’ for that one and his latest genius ideas.
