There was a big fire at a couple of years ago. Happily things are now growing back. The Dwarf Gorse is flowering profusely, while the much taller Common Gorse thinks it isn't the right season yet.

A very prickly green bush with no flowers grows next to dead branches of a similarly-sized bush (possibly the same plant regrowing from its roots after the fire). Around it is a wide area of much shorter plants, also very spiny, with lots of bright yellow flowers.
