Toyota claims to have created a battery for EVs that will last for 1200km and be able to be recharged in 10 minutes. https://cleantechnica.com/2023/07/04/toyota-claims-solid-state-battery-has-745-mile-range-10-minute-charging-time/ Two questions that don't seem to be addressed in the media are: 1. How do you get that many Watts down a charging cable? Either you use an insanely high voltage charger or a very fat cable to handle lots of amps. So fat it'd be hard to lift. 2. How do you keep the battery cool while pushing that many Watts into it? #Toyota #EV #Battery #RapidCharger
@pthane Toyota are full of crap.
It's all distraction whilst they fund anti EV legislation around the world
@pthane I dont recall any CleanTechnica articles being skeptical of Tesla making 1,000 solar roofs per week, a Roadster with thrusters that could make it fly, a microchip brain implant that can cure diabetes, and most of all a Tesla that can be called a Level 5 driving system. But when Toyota says they have a new battery technology, color CleanTechnica skeptical.
