200 days of learning Cymraeg on Duolingo. Still enjoying it, though I’d love to practice speaking it as well.

@KathAndrews SaySomethingInWelsh have a workspace on Slack called WSP (Welsh Speaking Practice) which anyone can join - you just need to email admin@saysomethingin.com to ask for an invite (and it's free - you don't have to be subscribed to SSiW)

@siaronj thank you! I shall do that!

@siaronj @KathAndrews What actually is it? I signed up for Slack at the start of the Pandemic, but never actually used it. Is it like a chatroom? Diolch!

@TheBeastOfBaglan @siaronj @KathAndrews Slack is a forum with threads for different topics. It has a built in video chat function but people also advertise group chats on Zoom.

As said, there is written communication, but also video (or just audio) chats available. It is mainly run by the participants themselves organising chat sessions with different themes such as gardening, photography and the Noson Lawen, but there is also a mid-week Chat Group on a Wednesday run by Nia from SSiW. It's also possible to connect 1-to-1 with others for practice too.

@TheBeastOfBaglan @siaronj I’ve used Slack for my work and it has been chatrooms with topics. I’ve only seen it used for written communications though and didn’t know it could be used for spoken communication - will be interesting to find out how that works!
