SteveThis is an African Spoonbill (Platalea alba), easily recognised by its striking all-white plumage and that distinctive spoon-shaped bill. That unusual bill isn’t just for show, it’s perfectly adapted for sweeping through shallow water in search of small fish, insects, and crustaceans. The red skin around the eyes is quite prominent here, which is often more noticeable during the breeding season.<br>
