Corgi Dad
While I was in western Mass I finally got to try an Alpitronic HPC charging station! BP pulse opened a "gigahub" near Logan airport which has 4 of these, but they're usually out of way for me. These 400kw chargers are among the best in the industry - fast, reliable, and easy to use. At least that's what I've heard.

This one is from the Mercedes Benz charging network at the Lee Outlet shopping mall, conveniently located right off I-90. It has a food court and bathrooms. I activated it from ChargePoint app, very easy. Charging started in no time. Max charging power recorded at 318kw! Very satisfying experience. Corgi Dad
Recent EV charging drama...

We spontaneously decided to go antiquing in Worcester which is about 1 hour away. With 30% SoC we'd just be able to make it home with 0% but I didn't want to risk that. So I decided to charge around Worcester on the way back.

First choice is EA in Northborough, since it's free for me. It has an 85% charge limit, so turnover should be fast. However there were 3 cars waiting when we arrived. I didn't want to wait, and Josh found a Ford Charger across the street at a dealer. I haven't used a Ford one before, so we decided to give it a try.

We saw one right away in front of the building, but it was turned off. I looked around and noticed another one across the parking lot, but it turned out to be an outdated charger which was also turned off, and at a Lincoln dealer. As we were super disappointed and leaving, I saw one at the back of the service department and it was on! It only accepts payment through Ford Charge (when you have a Ford EV) or Shell app. I haven't used the shell app for so long that I had to reset my password... But eventually everything worked fine. Reached 224kw in no time, which is not bad for a 240kw charger. We only charged for 8 mins to get us home. It's actually cheaper than the EA too.

And loved that it gave stats for Nerds!!

#EV #ElectricVehicle #ElectricCar #Charging #Infrastructure #MA #Worcester #Ford #FordCharge
