Dwenius<p>I am an absolute sucker for every flavor of “first take best take” / “got it in one” / “spark of genius” music miracle. “Sweet Dreams” comes to mind, Clare Torry (ok ok that one is “bits of takes two and three best take”), the “beautiful jam”, every Karen Carpenter session story, you know, that stuff. </p><p>BUT THIS. </p><p>HOLY SHIT. </p><p>No WONDER it took me for fucking ever to sort out the time signature etc at the beginning of this song. No WONDER there are extra random bass notes and clapping at the end. </p><p>Given the context from this interview: the triplet kick that leads into the first verse is absolute genius. Tap it out with your hands, right hand 16th note hats, left hand 8th note rimshot, half note kicks, then that triplet kick. Boom.
