Peter Sketch<p>Here&#39;s a plant for which the <a href="https://toot.wales/tags/Sepals" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Sepals</span></a> are a useful ID feature - Bulbous Buttercup in which the sepals fold back along the stem rather than clinging to the petals as in several other common buttercup species. <a href="https://toot.wales/tags/WildflowerHour" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>WildflowerHour</span></a> <a href="https://toot.wales/tags/Swindon" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Swindon</span></a> <a href="https://toot.wales/tags/Bloomscrolling" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Bloomscrolling</span></a> <a href="https://toot.wales/tags/botany" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>botany</span></a> <a href="https://toot.wales/tags/plants" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>plants</span></a> <a href="https://toot.wales/tags/flowers" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>flowers</span></a> <a href="https://toot.wales/tags/wildflowers" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>wildflowers</span></a> <a href="https://toot.wales/tags/photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>photography</span></a></p>

Kathy Chandler 🌻<p><a href="https://c.im/tags/Sepals" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Sepals</span></a> are usually green and protect the developing flower buds, but when sepals and petals are indistinguishable from each other, they are called tepals. Some plants, like the Wood Anemone (Anemone nemorosa) don't have petals at all. The flowers are made entirely from sepals.<br><a href="https://c.im/tags/WildFlowerHour" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WildFlowerHour</span></a></p>
