Probably a support wheel for some tractor attachment. It's got a crumbling low profile rubber tyre that has water sloshing around in it and the axle bearings are frozen.</p><p>The big one is a tractor front tyre with an ant colony. So your first task is to create a user, install sudo, and configure it.</p><p>I had to install tools like <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/vim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>vim</span></a>, <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/sudo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sudo</span></a>, and others manually. This forced me to appreciate how Arch keeps things minimal by default.</p><p>What used to be confusing on other systems (why can't I install this?) became crystal clear: if something doesn’t work, it’s probably because I haven’t set it up yet – not because the OS is broken.</p><p>Every package I installed and configured taught me something new. Nothing came preinstalled. No GUI installer. No sudo. No editor. Just a prompt. And that was the best thing that could’ve happened.</p><p>Here’s what I actually learned:</p><p>That a Linux “installation” is often just a well-organized file extraction. No registry. No black box like in <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Windows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Windows</span></a>.</p><p>That <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/pacman" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>pacman</span></a> is a powerful tool and <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/sudo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sudo</span></a> doesn’t work until you configure it. I had to add my user to the <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/wheel" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>wheel</span></a> group and use <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/visudo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>visudo</span></a>, a special editor to safely modify sudoers.</p><p>That my user password, not root’s, is used for sudo – which felt secure and efficient once I understood the logic.</p><p>I didn’t just get a system running – I learned what a system is.</p>
