It is my understanding that the Court has concluded that the term “woman" refers exclusively to biological females, excluding trans women with a Gender Recognition Certificate. This interpretation is not only anti-science and anti-feminist, it also undermines the rights and dignity of transgender people, and sets a dangerous precedent for how legal protections for all minority groups may be interpreted in future.
