Being an oldish codger myself, I felt sympathy for this rather decrepit hollow oak tree that I encountered when wandering through the local woods this morning.
All that unseasonal greenery comes courtesy of a row of holly trees, including an old one growing to the left of the oak and seeming to partially prop it up.

A leaf covered footpath winds round an ancient hollow oak tree. A row of holly trees provide some winter greenery.
