1998-2006 I was Support Manager at a very small company. The title was mostly to impress customers, I didn't manage anyone but I did provide good tech support. Customers were amazed, they'd call expecting to get the usual customer services bollocks but they'd get me. They'd ask how to do something using one of our products and I'd explain. End of call. Trouble starts when a company gets more calls than the tech staff can deal with.
