It occurred to me that if the fireflies are now emerging, the cucumber beetles, squash beetles, squash bugs, etc. can't be far behind, so I deployed the first wave of my sticky traps with scent lure this morning. Now we'll see...

@gardening
@richrollgardener You're right. Where did you get your cucumber beetle trap and lure?
@redcrew I believe it was Harris seeds. Johnny's carries them, too, but you have to order by January or they sell out.
@richrollgardener Thank you. I ordered from Harris Seeds. I had a discount coupon from them, for ordering seeds earlier.
I found other websites that had the trap/lure, but shipping cost was almost the same as cost of trap/lure.
Fingers crossed it arrives soon! My fault for not marking my calendar to order them. If I hadn't read your post, I would have forgotten and complained about cucumber beetles in a few weeks.
I tried lures one year and caught a lot of beetles but didn’t see much change in the damage. I read online that the lures bring them in from far away.
I just do clay spray and sticky traps without lure.
@MCDuncanLab @redcrew I mostly do hand picking of the bugs in the cool of the early morning, but I'm here all the time so it's easy-ish for me. The traps are for the "overflow" I agree about the "pulling-in" possibilities, but I have the only cucurbits in about a 5 mile radius, so I risk it.
@MCDuncanLab @richrollgardener Good to know, thank you.
Also the three line beetles like anise hyssop, that’s why we grow it on the deck.
