Beginning to think that I'm wastin' time
I don't understand the things I do
The world outside looks so unkind
And I'm countin' on you
To carry me through

Oh, give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Yeah, give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away.

Drift Away

Musical Interlude: A half-century ago, my hometown Tastee Freez had a jukebox, and it was a popular place to stop for a cone and to chat with friends. I remember this song playing often there; I don't recall any others, and it's about the only place I remember hearing this....but apparently it was a bit of a hit.

"Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep," performed by Middle of the Road.

🎶 You can’t talk Bee Gees without talking “Jive Talkin’” 🎶
Did you know the original title was inspired by the sound of their car tires crossing a causeway in Miami?

“Jive Talkin’” marked the Bee Gees' big comeback, hitting #1 in the U.S. and bringing a fresh funk vibe, thanks to legendary producer Arif Mardin. He brought the groove, the tempo, and even schooled them on what jive talkin’ really meant... 👀

THE CURE
Join The Dots (B-Sides & Rarities 1978>2001 The Fiction Years)
2004 U.S. 4xCD Compilation
Digibook

It’s days like today that make me feel glad I have my Harman/Kardon 6-Disc changer. What a find!

I first purchased this in 2004 when it came out, while working at an HMV in Harvard Square in Cambridge, Ma (it’s looong gone).
I have no clue what happened to my original one, but that no longer matters.

For an absolute Cure freak like me, this was an absolute treasure trove when it came out. Tons of awesome b-sides, rarities, soundtrack songs and comp tracks from every iteration of the band up to that point.

I’m about to throw the first disc on now, and I’d say the chances of me listening to all four discs straight through tonight sit at around 100%.

My favorite find of the year, hands down.
