Last night I was asked to compose a #riddlepoem in honor of #SaintDavidsDay (March 1) for the local #Welsh Society. I need to have something by tomorrow. Any feedback is appreciated on this first draft:
Descended from pre-Roman kings,
I emphasized the little things
Such as the leek and daffodil.
The place I stood became a hill
So everyone could hear me say:
“Rejoice! Have faith!” But on my day,
Enjoy a beer or lamb-leg steak…
As for myself, I don’t partake.
