Gordon Brown stated that should Labour get into power they would push on with proposed constitutional reforms even if the people of Scotland reject them at the ballot box. This kinda suggests to me that they are anticipating being humped once again in #Scotland.

A very good article. The case for the Union has been abandoned in favour of legal protection.

If there were an English Independence Party and voters in England voted them into power, who would they ask permission of in order to hold a referendum to leave the UK?
The ruling of the Supreme Court is really no surprise. Here's why the UK nationalists are so afraid of a 2nd Scottish Referendum and losing it. Without Scotland and her wealth of resources the rUK will have significant difficulty recovering from 12 years of Tory mismanagement. They will asset strip Scotland just as they did in the past to every other colony.

@Lairdy Rather than angry I think many of us who support Scottish Independence expected this ruling from the Supreme Court and perhaps even welcome it as it confirms precisely what we have been saying for many years - we have NEVER been part of a union of equals.

The decision of the Supreme Court that Scotland cannot hold an Independence Referendum without the consent of the UK Parliament will most likely result in an increase in SNP membership and an increase in the desire for Scottish Independence. You have to ask = why is the UK unionist establishment so afraid of a second Scottish Independence Referendum?
