This one is being finished my friends
Hello, this is my very first post here on Mastodon.
I create handmade leather goods and wooden furniture, crafted with care and traditional techniques. For me, working with natural materials is not just a job but a way of life.
If you’re interested, you can find some of my works here: htttps://uniquebondagegear.com
I’m looking forward to connecting with people who love craftsmanship, handmade objects, and timeless design.
The table top for the new Apple II+ table is finished. Just curing for a week or so. Still need to build the frame. This one will be simpler than the last. Just a basic mortise and tenon with an extra set of supports about six inches down on the sides and back.
My latest #woodworking project.
A coffee table. Top is a beautiful Bocote #wood finished with oil and wax. Bottom is Beech wood with minimal patterns and lighter color to show off the top.
Working on a thing!
I got rain barrels a few months ago, but they currently sit on the ground which isn't great for either hose access or water pressure.
I have a bunch of leftover lumber lying around, so voila! We now have 2 barrel stands!
Next step is to sand and weatherproof them.

https://mastodon.sdf.org/@wedge@woodworking.group Organizing my auger bits. Can anyone tell what the functional difference is between the flute spacing on these two bits?
UPS has it. #woodworking
Finally got around to making the bowl.
Turned out nicely, but all those facets were too annoying to sand properly without losing their definition, so I'm not very happy with the final feel of the surface.
In retrospect, I think I should probably have just made the facets using a higher grit on the belt sander, sacrificing speed for a nicer final finish.
Here we go. Crate is non trivially heavy and I am worried about shipping, but we’ll see. #woodworking
TIL: You can melt wood, and therefore you can also weld pieces of wood together.
Filled another void space with a custom storage solution. This one keeps a bunch of bags. There was no room for a properly hinged door, so it's just a panel held in place by magnets.

added drawers to one side of the fridge stand. not sure what will go on the other side, yet.

Until now, I have usually cut bigger pieces of wood and especially sheet material on the floor using supports of hardfoam or scrapwood. However, as I am tired of this method and have a number of sheets to cut in the near future, I decided to build a sawing station with a grid, similar to the one in the first picture. Originally, I planned to use homemade wooden saw horses as the base. But after finding these collapsible steel ones, I ordered them. For €45 including shipping (a pair), they are really very sturdy and well made. Adding a grid will be no problem and make my life easier. When not in use, I can take everything apart.
