If necessary, ties will be broken by the American Film Institute’s ranking as determined by their jurors’ votes in 2007.

Paramount was initially opposed to Francis Ford Coppola’s idea to title the movie “Part II” because they believed the audience would not be interested in an addition to a story they had already seen. However, Coppola prevailed, and the film's success began the common practice of numbered sequels.

Because of director Guy Hamilton’s difficulties with trade unions, Diamonds Are Forever was the first Bond production to be primarily based in America rather than Britain.

In the Blazing Saddles v Young Frankenstein poll, Blazing Saddles was well ahead at one point, polling over 60%. I think Young Frankenstein’s comeback is the biggest so far in our polls.

@HannahHowe Back in the 90s, I started a relationship with someone who hadn't seen any of the Godfather movies, so I bought 3 blank 180min VHS tapes and recorded each of them from TV.
My partner was so-so about the first, but I was sure Part II couldn't fail to impress. So we watched ... right up until Fredo goes out to the lake.
And there the tape ended.
I was never forgiven 😂

Great micro-snippet of a personal memory. Love the story. Moments such as this do not "define us", but remembering such moments helps us keep ties to our own past. Our whole life circumstances at that time, condensed into the memory of one strange or amusing or awkward moment.

And, to stick to the topic of Godfather II: what a masterpiece it was!

@OutOnTheMoors @HannahHowe

... indeed, and the resonances and tensions between Parts I and II make each of these two films better than it would be on its own.

@the_roamer @OutOnTheMoors @HannahHowe it doesn't hurt that all the young Vito material comes from the original Godfather novel.

@HannahHowe

I respect the 31% who went for DAF even though I could not. I love that Bond film
