@jaz Hi! I’ve been giving this some thought for NW Storm News lately on how to make sure information I share on #Mastodon that was sourced from #Twitter looks organic to Mastodon while also being properly attributed. I too don’t enjoy seeing my personal timeline littered with “RT @ x” followed by a tweet and a link. I’m sure I’m not the first to say this, but if I wanted to read a bunch of tweets, I’d go to Twitter! 1/3
@jaz @Storms So with above said, approach I’m currently trying is:
1.Anything shared from Twitter to Mastodon is curated by hand.(No bot)
2.Toots are prefaced with name of the source + hashtag where it makes sense. Eg. # NorthWalesPolice
3.The content copied is mostly word for word from the tweet, but is manually reviewed to ensure relevant Mastodon users are tagged, hashtags are included & images have alt text etc.
Was wondering what people thought of this approach? 100% open to feedback!2/3
