Interesting to see that RNZ's 'new' daily mailing list service: https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/media-technology/523427/sign-up-for-rnz-s-free-daily-newsletter-nga-pitopito-korero uses (US proprietary service) Mailchimp. See where http://www.list-manage.com resolves. *big sigh* We could do this all here in NZ using #libre software. It'd be much lower cost, and it wouldn't be using NZ tax-payer funds (and RNZ's pitiful budget) to enrich US shareholders.
@lightweight What are foss alternatives to mailchimp that are easy to set up?
@niccokunzmann 'easy to set up' is a tricky one. All proprietary options are 'easy got get into' but much harder to ge out of. Therein lies much of the problem.
@niccokunzmann the 'mailchimp on steroids' solution we use is called Mautic - https://mautic.org - I run it with Docker Compose, which I consider 'easy', but others might not.
@lightweight @niccokunzmann I use #ListMonk for @afallen and @nicw. With a workaround because editing the newsletters is too hard using the html etc
See https://nationalinfrastructurecommission.wales/nicw-newsletters/
@davidoclubb @niccokunzmann @afallen @nicw ooo - very cool, hadn't come across Listmonk before... will investigate.
@lightweight @niccokunzmann @afallen @nicw I use #PikaPods to host mine, keeps it very easy!
